Why do you need a contingency budget?

What do you do when you find hidden surprises behind the walls of your project? 😱

That’s what happened to us recently, when we started the soft strip process for one of our projects. 🚧

We discovered some shocking things, like:

A cut-through wall that was blocked in with no connections
Timber used as support without any structural logic
Pipes buried in walls without any acoustic or fire protection
These findings have caused a lot of headaches for everyone involved - the contractor, the client, and us. 😓

We had to come up with design alternatives to solve these problems and make sure the project can move forward safely and efficiently. 💯

Luckily, our client had followed our advice and set aside some contingency money for unexpected issues like these. 💰

This is why it’s so important to have a realistic budget and a contingency plan when you embark on a home refurbishment project. 🏠

You never know what you might find behind the walls, and you need to be prepared for any scenario. 🔎
