Thinking there is one design solution that can be used universally.
This one is rooted in history and follows the "good taste bad taste" mantra.
But don't fall for it! Good design is site specific and responds to local constraints such as climate and opportunities such as locally sourced materials and skills.
In fact, locality as well as cultural diversity are just two of the influences you can choose to embrace in your designs to enrich them and create truly unique spaces.
