Book: Learn where to find

When it was first published by Charlotte Baden-Powell, this book quickly became super popular.

Not only did it gather information related to ergonomics, building regulations or planning to one place but it also told you things like unit conversions, brick and block dimensions and gave you tables for structural elements among many other things.

At the time this was very disruptive for an otherwise secretive (or gate keeping as it is known today) profession. The book has been revised many times and for someone looking for some key information, remains valuable as a reference point. Worth noting that the building regulations have been revised in many ways and hence you should double check the data… but this book tells you where you should be looking and sometimes that is what we need.
