Common problems when choosing the wrong team

Building professionals such as architects, engineers or surveyors, to mention a few, go through an extensive training to be able to do their job, but when it comes to successful projects, relationships between all parts will also play a key role.

Failing to surround yourself with people who will be able to advise you truthfully and insightfully, and who will tell you when lines should not be crossed can be an expensive decision.

Examples of how both relationships and communication could negatively impact your project include but are not limited to:

1. assuming that someone's scope is wider than it is and being ill equipped to complement the missing skills

2. heading in the wrong direction because the person you have appointed does not feel comfortable saying no to you or you have not listened

3. feeling unsupported when your team just get on with the job without communicating with you

4. feeling on your own when issues emerge rather than supported

All the above, of course assume you are an #Arkhlient and understand your role as the client, see the value that your team brings to the table and both value and compensate their advice.
