3 things to consider when planning your kitchen

1. Ergonomics: People often talk about the working triangle but for me, something that is as important is that everything is at a height that is helpful to you and that you have space to move around.

For instance, a low oven can become challenging when you are tying to get a heavy roast out.

Or getting your pans out of a base cupboard may be a challenge for someone elder.

2. Lighting: It is often assumed that spot lights on the ceiling will do but it is worth considering other types of lights: lights under cabinets, wall lights or pendants can be used to provide light efficiently and often in a much less harsh manner

3. Extraction: Although you can have an air circulator over your cooker (at least in the UK) you still need to provide ventilation. Do make sure you don't forget this when planning your kitchen
